ADMISSION NOTICE (Session 2012-13)

Applications are invited from candidates of Indian nationality for Admission to 5½ years' Degree Course in Homoeopathy (BHMS - including one year compulsory Rotatory Internship) at the National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata, affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences for the academic year 2012-2013.

ELIGIBILITY :
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates) are eligible to apply.

To be eligible for the all India common admission test, candidate should attain 17 years and should not have crossed the age of 25 years as on 31st December, 2012. Those born on before 31st December, 1987 or after 1st January, 1996 are not eligible.

Those candidates who have appeared for Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination, their candidature will be taken into consideration provided that the result of the qualifying examination is published before the admission and they have secured the required percentage of marks which has to be substantiated by production of documentary proof. Blind (including colour blind), deaf, and/or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply for the course.

APPLICATIONS :
Applications are to be submitted on three "A4" size paper (two pages for the application proforma and one page for the identification card) according to the format available at : http://nih.nic.in/BHMSAdm12.pdf

Filled in application (in candidate’s own handwriting) is to be sent along with a Bank draft for Rs.500/- in favour of Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, payable at Kolkata (IPO / Cheque / Cash / Money order will not be accepted). No Bank draft is required in case of SC/ST candidates but a copy of caste certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer should accompany the application. Candidates who claim to belong to any one of the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes should submit in support of his/her claim an attested/certified copy of a certificate along with the filled in form. Enclose recent, high contrast 3.5 cmX4.5 cm identical copies of colour photograph, clearily showing full head, face, shoulders and both ears without wearing any cap / hat / sunglasses, is required. Polaroid photo is not acceptable. Photograph must have been taken on or after 31st March, 2012 with a placard indicating the name of the candidate and the date of taking the photograph.

Two copies of the photograph are to be pasted on the specified area on the application, which should be attested by a Gazetted Officer with part of the signature on the photograph and the other half on the application form. Two unpasted photographs should be signed on the reverse by the candidate.

Duly filled-in applications should reach the office of the Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Block-GE, Sector-III, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700 106 on or before 30th April, 2012.

* Date of publication of the result : 18 June, 2012
* Date of Counselling (and of Admission) : 3rd & 4th July, 2012


Entrance Test Centres :
The All India admission test will be held at seven centres : Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Thiruvanthapuram and Bhopal.
