for Admission to the Ph.D. (Tech) Program of the

Department of Radio Physics and Electronics
Applications
are invited for admission to the Ph.D. (Tech) program of the Department of
Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, 92 Acharya Prafulla
Chandra Road, Kolkata 700009.
Candidates
may apply in the prescribed application form by paying Rs.100/- through a
Challan, endorsed by Head of the Department of Radio
Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta. A maximum of 53 Ph. D.
students may be accommodated with reservations as per the University rules. The
allocation of the supervisors will be finalized by the Department (see CU
website link for the areas on which research is carried out in this
department). Candidates having an M.Sc. / 4-year B.E. or B.Tech. / post-B.Sc 3
year B.Tech degree will have to appear in a written admission test followed by
an interview. Candidates having M.Tech / M.Phil degrees or who have passed NET
/ GATE / SLET / SET / equivalent examinations need not appear at the written
examination and are entitled directly to appear at the interview.
The last date for accepting application form
is March 31, 2013 at 12:00 noon.
A one
hour written examination will be held on April 18, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the
Department of Radio Physics and Electronics, 92, A.P.C. Road, Kolkata 700 009
and the question will be in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) based
on fundamentals of physics, electronics and communication.

The
interview will be held on May 7 and May 8, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the
Department.

admission is not related to any financial support or Ph.D. Scholarship.
