 The National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped (NIMH) is a registered society established in the year 1984 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The Institute is an apex body having tripartite functions of training, research and services in the field of mental retardation in the country. Since past 30 years, the institute has been making striking advances in building capacities to empower persons with mental retardation.

Director, NIMH invites applications for admission to the following courses:

2	Master   in   Disability   Rehabilitation (MDRA) (2 years) (Affiliated    to    Jawaharlal    Nehru Technological University) Entrance Exam on 16.07.2014	Bachelor degree in disability rehabilitation field recognized by RCI or MCI and/or Paramedical professionals relating to rehabilitation (Physiotherapy/occupational therapy/nursing/Laboratory technology with minimum of 50% marks (or) Masters Degree from a recognized university in the field of Psychology. Rehabilitation Psychology, Social work Rehabilitation Social Work . Business Management with a minimum of 50% marks	"20
3	M.Sc. Disability Studies (El) (2 years) (Affiliated to Osmania University) Entrance Exam on 06.07.2014	The candidate should have a degree from a recognized university in the following courses - MBBS. BUMS. BAMS. Naturopathy, BHMS. BMR, BRS (MR), BRT, BOT. BPT, BSc.(HLS). PGDEI. Masters in Child Development, M.Phil in Psychology. The candidate should have secured 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree examination in case of general candidates and 45% marks in case of SC and ST candidates.	MO

'Reservation for SC/ST/OBC as per rules. The number of seats may increase based on the decision of RCI, New Delhi for supernumerary seats for OBC category.

Limited Scholarships / Financial assistance available for meritorious candidates from Reserved / Un-reserved Category apart from GOI Scholarships for Reserved Category Candidates.

Note: The hard copy of the application duly filled in with specified demand draft shall be submitted by post before the due date. Application without demand draft and copies of certificates will not be entertained. Application received after the due date will not be considered. The decision of the Institute is final in this regard.
