Admissions to Medical Super Speciality Courses Kerala 2009-2010

Commissioner for Entrance Examinations has invited applications for the Entrance Examination for admission to Medical Post Graduate Super Speciality Courses, Kerala-2009, in the Medical Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kozhikode in the following Specialities.

M. Ch. Paediatric Surgery
M. Ch. Plastic Surgery
M. Ch. Genito Urinary Surgery
M. Ch. Thoracic Surgery
M. Ch. Neuro Surgery
M. Ch. Gastroenterology Surgery
D. M. Cardiology
D. M. Gastroenterology
D. M. Neurology
D. M. Nephrology

Applicant should be an Indian citizen, should have passed the Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS/Dip. N.B) from any of the Medical College recognized by the Medical Council of India and should have done at least one year compulsory rural service/senior residency/Government Service in any of the Government Medical Colleges/Government Hospitals in Kerala.

In case sufficient number of candidates fulfilling the condition of compulsory rural service/senior residency /Government Service in any of the Government Medical Colleges/Government Hospitals in Kerala is not available, candidates who are otherwise qualified will also be considered, based on the merit in the entrance test.

Candidates who have passed from Medical Colleges in Kerala will be considered first for preparation of rank list. In case, sufficient number of candidates in the above category is not available for admission for any reason, candidates from other states will be considered for the balance seats, based on the merit in the entrance test.

Service candidates who have appeared or are appearing for MD/MS Examination can also apply. They should submit their P G Degree Certificate at the time of Counseling. Candidates should have got their M B B S and P G Degrees registered permanently with State [TC] Medical Council, the proof of which should be submitted at the time of Counseling. Upper age limit will be 45 years for General Merit Candidates and 47 years for Service Candidates, as on the last date of submission of Application.

Candidates applying for General seats have to appear for the Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), at Thiruvananthapuram on 27.06.2009 (Saturday) and 28.06.2009 (Sunday). The Examination will consist of two Papers, each of one and half hours duration with objective type questions (Multiple Choice). Appearance in Paper I and II of the Entrance Examination is compulsory. General Merit candidates have to secure a minimum of 50% marks to qualify in the Entrance Examination.

For Service candidates the eligibility will be as per the provisions of Kerala Medical Officers Admission to Post Graduate Courses under service quota Act 2008. Selection of service candidates will be based on their seniority in service. They do not have to appear for the Entrance Examinations.

Details regarding the courses, eligibility are given in the Prospectus issued by the Director of Medical Education (DME). Applications can be submitted online at www.cee-kerala.org. Prospectus is also available at this site.

Application fee for General/Service candidates is Rs.1500/-. Service candidates who seek admission under General Quota also, should pay a total amount of Rs.3000/-. The application fee may be remitted at any Branch of SBT. Candidates residing outside Kerala state can remit the application fee by way of Demand Draft drawn from any Nationalized Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Candidates, after submitting the application online, should take a print out of the application submitted and affix passport size photograph duly attested by the candidates in the space provided.

The completed application with all the required documents, including original bank voucher should reach the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 001, by Registered Post/Speed Post/Hand Delivery latest by 5 pm on 13.06.2009 [Saturday].

Service quota candidates are required to forward the application along with copies of all required documents, to their Controlling Officer as stipulated in the Prospectus to reach on or before 13.06.2009. Service candidates seeking admission in General Merit quota will have to forward the application form both to the Controlling Officer and Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, prepare and publish the rank list of candidates who qualify in the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education. The selection, admission and allotment of seats including those under Service Quota will be made by the DME through a Centralized Allotment Process [CAP] and will be based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus, approved by the Government of Kerala.
