Sant Longowal Institute of Enginering and TEchnology (SLIET) is a Deemed to be University and a national level institute established by Governemnt of India through Ministry of Human REsource Development. The Institute offers unique modular paatern of education in vaious branches of Engineering, Technology and Sciences. Applications on prescribed form are invited for admission to M.Sc. and Ph.D. Programmes through a National Level Test called SLIET Entrance Test (SET), to be conducted on 26th June, 2011 at SLIET, Longowal. COURSES OFFERED:
M.Sc. Programmes (SET-VII)
Duration: 2 years (Full Time Course)

Eligibility: 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) in the aggregate in qualifying examination as mentioned hereunder:
(1) M.Sc. (Physics): Recognized Bachelor's Degree with Physics as main subject.
(2) M.Sc. (Chemistry): REcognized Bachelor's Degree with Chemistry as main subject.
(3) M.Sc. (Mathematics): REcognized Bachelors Degree (B.A./B.Sc.) with Mathematics.

Ph.D. Programmes (SET-VIII)
Eligibility: Master's Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/ Humanities/ Management with 55% of marks (50% for SC/ST)

Available Departments are:
Chemical TEchnology, Food Engg.&Tech., Chemistry, Management, Computer Sc. &Engg., Mathematics, Electrical & Instrumentation Engg., Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Comm. Engg., Physics, English.

Seats in above departments are available on:
Full Time (with Fellowship)
Full Time (without Fellowship)
Part-time

Note: Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examiantion can also apply.

Statutory Reservations (in all above programmes): 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST 3% for PH and 27% for OBC (NOn-creamy layer).

Latest instructions of Governemnt of India shall apply for Satutory REservations at the time of admission.

The Brochure containing information about the Institute, syllabi for Entrance Test for differnet progrmmes and application form for Entrance TEst may be downloaded form Institute website www.sliet.ac.in.

The completed application form along with examination fee of Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for SC/ST) (in the form of Ban DD Draft or Cash REcept of Institute) should be sent to The Chairman, SET-2011, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and TEchnology, Longowal-148106, Distt. Sangrur (Punjab) on or before May 30, 2011.
