Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology, Mohali has invited applications for admission to UG & PG Courses of Academic Year 2012-13.
Courses & Eligibility Criteria:
Under Graduate Programmes:
Fashion Design / Fashion Design (Knits) / Textile Design:
The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central / State Board of Secondary Examination such as CBSE , New Delhi and Council for Indian School of Certificate New Delhi.
or
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka at the Advanced ( A ) level.
or
Any Public School / Board / University examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
or
A pass grade in Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by National Open School with minimum of five subjects.
or
3 or 4 years diploma recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education.
Postgraduate Programmes:
Garment Manufacturing Technology / Fashion Marketing and Management:
Three years Bachelors Degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by Association of Indian Universities or Diploma in Fashion Design, NIIFT only.
For Foreign Bachelors Degree , not recognized by Association of Indian Universities , proper certifications by National Body constituted in country concerned for granting equivalence will have to be produced.
SC / ST Candidates:
Candidates applying under this reserved quota would have to produce a Caste / Tribe certificate from Competent Authority of respective State / Union Territories / National Commission of Tribes.
PH Candidates:
Candidates seeking admission under this physically handicapped quota must produce a Disability Certificate issued by Medical Board attached with Vocational
Rehabilitation Centre (VRC) working under Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India, certifying their disability as 40% or more.
Foreign / NRI Candidates:
7 seats in each discipline are reserved for admission of Foreign Nationals whether residing in India or abroad, applicants from Non Resident Indians are as specified in Income Tax Act 1961. The admission to NIIFT Programmes to NRI/ Foreign Nationals will be offered on first com first serve basis. Candidate must attach an attested copy of proof of status of NRI / Foreign National. The seats of SC and ST are interchangeable depending upon candidates available in each category and any seat left there after will be offered to General category. Any seats left vacant in NRI and PH Category will be offered to General Category

Send the duly completed Print Version of Online Application Form having Auto Generated Application No. to "The Project Manger CMS, All India Management Association, Management House, 14, Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi - 110 003 "so as to reach on or before 09 April 2012. Registration Process will be completed only on receipt of Print Version of Online Application Form.
Eligible candidates applying for both UG & PG programmes have to fill separate online application forms and have to submit separate print out of filled application form containing different auto generated application number along with separate demand draft of requisite fee.
Last date for the submission of application forms is April 09, 2012.
Written entrance exam will be held on April 28, 2012.
