The M.B.B.S. program at Chettinad Hospital & Research Institute is designed to create doctors who are fully qualified, broadly skilled and ready to pursue careers as generalists of specialists. The course offers a strong foundation in basic science with emphasis on early development of clinical and procedural skills.
Admission to M.B.B.S. Degree Course is based on merit listing prepared as a result of competitive Entrance Examination by securing not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the All India Level Common Entrance Examination (+2 syllabus) conducted by this Chettinad Academy of Research and Education, Kelambakkam, Kancheepuram District and subject to Physical fitness.
Eligibility to appear for the Entrance Examination:
The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the M.B.B.S. Course.
Candidate must have passed HSC/CBSE/ISCE in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany and Zoology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 75% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Botany and Zoology.
Candidates who have passed the HSC in Vocational stream are not eligible to apply.
Submission of Application:
Application forms should be filled in carefully and legibly by the candidate in his/her own handwriting.
Furnishing of false information or suppression of material information in the form will make the application treated as cancelled.
The University reserves the right to change any of the conditions enumerated periodically or for the purpose of complying with any of the regulations of the statutory councils.
Applications with incomplete or insufficient particulars or without enclosures or those received after the last date will be rejected without any intimation to the candidates.
The institute shall not be held responsible for any postal delay, loss in transit or for incorrect address given by the candidates.
Certificates to be enclosed along with the application form:
Photo copies of the 10th and 12th standard mark statements duly attested by a Gazetted Officer, should be enclosed along with the application form for Entrance Examination.
Photograph:
Two identical and recently taken passport size colour photographs are required. Candidate should affix the photograph in the space provided in the application form.
Hall Ticket:
(i) Hall Tickets for the Entrance Examination will be issued only to the eligible candidates. If any candidate has not received the Hall Ticket he/she should contact the office of the Registrar over phone or report by fax. For such candidates, duplicate Hall Ticket will be issued on the day of the Examination at the Examination Centre.
(ii) Admission to the Entrance Examination will not guarantee admission to the Course.
(iii) Any queries regarding the Entrance Examination and Admission procedure shall be referred to the office of the Registrar, Chettinad Academy of Research and Education.
(iv) Hall Ticket must be produced at the time of Entrance Examination without fail.
(v) No candidate shall be allowed to write the Entrance Examination without valid Hall Ticket

06.05.2012 -- Sunday -- 10.30 am to 1.00 pm
Centre for Entrance Examination:
1. Chennai 2. Bengaluru 3.Hyderabad and 4. New Delhi
The Venue of the Entrance Examination Centre will be intimated in the Hall Ticket.
Scheme and Conduct of Examination:
i. The Entrance Examination will consist of 150 multiple choice questions covering the subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Biology /Botany and Zoology from +2 syllabus
ii. The duration of the Entrance Examination will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
iii. Candidate should report at the Centre for Entrance Examination 30 minutes before the commencement of Examination. No candidates will be allowed to enter the Examination hall 30 minutes after commencement of Examination.
iv. Candidates will not be allowed to carry any textual material, printed or written, bits of paper or any prohibited materials such as mobile phones, calculators, paging devices or electronic gadgets inside the Examination hall. If anyone happens to bring any of these items the same should be kept outside the Examination hall solely at the risk of the candidate.
v. Candidates should maintain silence and attend to their paper only.
Mode of Selection:
i. Selection will be made based on merit listing prepared as a result of competitive Entrance Examination by securing not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the All India Level Common Entrance Examination
(+2 syllabus) conducted by Chettinad Academy of Research and Education, Kelambakkam, Kancheepuram District.
ii. Results will be displayed in the University Notice Board.
iii. The university will not intimate the unsuccessful candidates individually regarding the result of Entrance Examination and no correspondences on this subject will be entertained.

Application along with prospectus can be obtained on payment of Rs1000/- made through Demand Draft drawn in favor of “Chettinad Academy of Research and Education, payable at Chennai. The form can be obtained in person/through post/may be downloaded from the University website. If the form is downloaded, the completed form must be accompanied by a D.D. as per the above instruction.
