WELCOME TO CIVIL SERVICE INSTITUTE
1. CIVIL SERVICE COURSES


The courses is meant for Graduate / Post Graduates who would like to take the IAS/IPS and other Civil Services examinations. The courses begins in July every year and goes up to May, the next year. Though the course with regular Full-time classes is only for 11 months. The candidates are allowed to attend the various Crash Programed and use the facilities of the Institute till they complete all the three parts the Civil Service Examination – Prelims, Mains & Interview.

2. ADD-ON COURSE (PART –TIME)

This courses is specially meant for those brilliant students who take up the t5ask for preparing for IAS, IPS etc. along with their undergraduate or Post-graduate studies. The duration of the course is 3 years. Classes are conducted on holidays and during vacations. The Course covers all the subjects included in our Full-time Course

3. TWO YEAR FOUNDATION COURSE FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS (FOUNDATION A)

The Foundation course is meant for Degree students. The course content is mainly the syllabus for the IAS preliminary examination. In addition to it, the students are given training in public speaking, group discussion, leadership activities and interview skills. The development of communication skills is another concern of the course. Foundation A classes are conducted on Saturday and other holidays. It begins in the month of August.

4. ONE YEAR FOUNDATION COURSE FOR HIGHER SECONDARY STUDENTS (FOUNDATION B)

This is basically a Familiarization course in which select topics included in the syllabus for the preliminary examination are dealt with. Foundation on B pays attention to the development of communication skills also Foundation B Classes are conducted on second Saturdays and other holidays. On completion of the course, students can join the second year of Foundation A. The course begins in the month of August.

5. CRASH PROGRAMMES FOR OPTIONAL

Crash Programes are conducted for those candidates who have appeared for the Prelims during the months of June-September every year. Special Crash Programed will be arranged for Malayalam, Political Science, History, Economics, Geography, Sociology and Public Administration.

6. CRASH PROGRAMES FOR GENERAL STUDIES

Special Crash Programes are conducted for both prelims & mains in general studies guided by Sri. Jojo Mathew (Interactions, New Delhi) during April-May
and August-September every year.

7.UGC COACHING

Special Coaching Classes for UGC NT-JRF Examinations are conducted for the those Candidates who have appeared for or PG Degree Examinations. Classes are conducted on Sundays and other Holidays.

8. P.S.C COACHING FOR ALL TESTS ON SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS

This course is spread over 24 weeks. It covers the area of General English, General Knowledge, Mental Ability and Interview techniques. Classes are conducted on Sunday and other holidays.

SCHOLARSHIP / FEE CONCESSION
Scholarship / Fee Concession are provided to eligible candidates on means cum merit basis
NEW PATTERN
The preliminary examination shall now consist of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks of two hours duration each. Detailed below is the new syllabus and pattern of the Preliminary Examination which is brought to the notice of the prospective candidates intending to appear for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) from 2011 onwards.

OUR INNVACTORY PROGRAMS

1. ADD-ONE COURSE

We have designed a new Add-on Course for College students – both Professional and Arts & Science to be conducted on holidays so as to enable them to prepare for civil services exams at the earliest. This course is specially meant for those brilliant students who take up the task of preparing for IAS, IPS etc. along with their undergraduate studies. The duration of the course is three years. The course covers all the three parts of the Civil Services Examination – Prelims, Mains and Interview.

2. OFF-CAMPUS CENTRES

We have drawn up a plan to provide civil services orientation coaching to school students in accordance with te restructured scheme of the Civil Service Examination. The coaching package consist of 30 weekly classes of 3 hours duration or a crash programme of 15 classes of 6 hours duration in Summer Vacation for the benefit of students from 8th to 11th classes. The institute will set up off-campus centres in such schools as have at least 50 students to attend the coaching classes.

3. INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAMME (ORIENTATION CAMPUS)

The Intensive Training Programmes has been designed to equip Civil Service aspirants for the All India Aptitude Test, Introduced from 2011 onwards. The duration of the programme is three years. It consists of Orientation Campus and annual workshops during vacations, periodic get together for evaluation of assignments and projects work.

4. WOMEN EMPOWERMENT MISSION

It aims at the holistic development of women so as to empower them to take up the challenging responsibilities of the fast developing society. In tune with the national policy of women empowerment, we launched this project to provide all possible assistance to those women participants in the fields of Local Self Government, Social Work, Education, Self Employment, Private Enterprise and the like.



PLAN OF EXAMINATION
The competitive examination for Civil Services comprises two successive stages
(I). Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination.
(ii). S=Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and Posts.
The Preliminary Examinations will consist of two papers of objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry 400 marks. This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only; the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the main examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination on will be about twelve to thirteen times the total approximate number of vacancies to be filled in the year in the various services and posts. Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the Preliminary Examination in a year will be eligible for admission to the Main Examination of the year, provided they are otherwise eligible for admission to the main examination.
