ABOUT NIFTEM:
National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) was conceptualized by Government of India on pressing demand of the food industry to have an Apex Body as a One Stop Solution Provider for the various problems of the sector. Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India, set up this institute with an initial investment of about ? 500 crore (US$ 100 million). Spread over an area of 100 acre at a prime location in close proximity of North Delhi - Haryana border of NH-1. The Institute intends to act as an international centre of excellence in the area of .Food Technology and Management. NIFTEM has been granted the Status of a Deemed to be University under De-novo Category.
Mandate of NIFTEM
NIFTEM has a mandate to work as Sector Promotion Organisation/ Business Promotion Organisation of the food processing secior. Major objectives:

Admission Notice 2012-13 (B. Tech. and M. Tech.)
UNDER GRADUATE PROGRAMME
Fouryears regular B. Tech. degree in Food Technology and Management.
Eligibility
• Passing in 10+2 or its equivalent witha minimum average of 60% (55% for SC/ST) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) or'Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (PCMB).
• Must have passed 10+2 or XII exam in 2010, 2011 or appearing/ passed in 2012. Candidates passed 10+2 or XII exam in 2009 or before are not eligible. Results to be produced during counseling.
• Should have completed age of 17 years on 31st December of the year of his/her admission..
Selection Process
The selection of students will be done based on All India Rank of AIEEE-2012. Counseling for admission will be done by NIFTEM admission cell. Number of Seats

FIVE POST GRADUATE PROGRAMMES
Two years regular M. Tech. degree in
1. Food Supply Chain Management
2. Food Safety and Quality Management
3. Food Process Engineering Management
4. Food Plant Operations Management
5. Food Technology and Management.
Eligibility:
Fouryears degree in Food Science/ Food Technology and Management/ Food Technology/ Food Process Engineering / Food Engineering / Dairy Engineering / Dairy Technology/ Agricultural Process Engineering/ Agricultural & Food Engineering/ Agricultural Engineering/ Bio Technology/ Bio Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering or in related allied fields from a recognized University / Institute is must.
M. Sc. degree holder from a recognized University/Institute in Horticulture/ Post Harvest Technology/ Food Technology/ Food Science and Technology/ Food Process Engineering/ Fruit Production and Post Harvest Technology/ Microbiology or Industrial Microbiology/ Bio Technology or in related allied fields is also -acceptable for admission in all M. Tech. programmes exceptforM.Tech. in Food Process Engineering Management. Candidates appearing for final year examinations of above in 2012 may also apply. Provisionally selected candidates will require to produce their proof of passing the above qualifying examination by 31.8.2012, failing which provisional admission will be cancelled.
Selection Process
The admission to M. Tech. programmes will be based on the merit formed by adding valid GATE score of a candidate to his marks obtained in an interview conducted by NIFTEM. After the admission of eligible GATE qualified candidates, the remaining seats, if any, will be filled by non GATE candidates on the basis of an Entrance Test and Interview to be conducted by NIFTEM.

How to Apply
Interested candidates may apply in prescribed application form, downloadable from NIFTEM website, along with information brochure. The form and the brochure can also be obtained by post on a written request made to the Admission Cell along with a DD of Rs. 350 towards brochure fee and postal charges. The duly filled in application form along with necessary enclosures and a non-refundable application fee of ? 1000 (General) and
Rs. 500 (SC/ST) should-be sent by registered/speed post/ in person to Head, Admission Cell, NIFTEM, Plot No. 97, Sector 56, HSIIDC Industrial Estate, Kundli-131 028, Distt. Sonepat, Haryana, so as to reach at the destination on or before 05:00 PM of 16.06.2012.
Applications would also be acceptable by 05:00 PM of 23.06.2012 with a late fee of
Rs. 500, in addition to application fee.
All DD should be in favour of 'NIFTEM' payable at SBI, Branch - NIFTEM Campus Kundli (Branch Code 15479).
