COURSE OVERVIEW
The Post Graduate Executive Diploma in
Financial Market (PGED-FM) is a 1 year week end programme designed jointly by
GIPE and NSE with the objective of developing trained professionals capable of
occupying positions of responsibility in stock exchanges, commodity exchanges,
regulatory bodies market intermediaries, banks, mutual funds and asset
management companies and other similar entities.
The uniqueness of the programme lies in its
extensive use of market professionals as resource persons for the programme.
Apart from sound grounding in academic concepts pertaining to the capital
markets, the participants will get a change to interact with senior regulatory
officials, executives of exchanges, leading merchant bankers, institutional investors
and FIIs.
The programme is comprehensive in nature,
covering all financial markets – cash equity, equity derivatives, currency
derivatives, commodities and foreign exchange. What has been sought to be
achieved is an ideal blend of useful theoretical knowledge and its application
to capital markets. Pedagogy for the programme comprises class room teaching,
case studies, panel discussions, presentations and visits to national and
overseas financial centres.
The effective delivery of the program
requires proper appreciation of „applied financial data analysis‟. The
institute facilitates the participants towards application of Information
Technology in various paradigms of IT interfaced learning by designing the
curriculum accordingly.

Certification – PGED-FM is a comprehensive
financial markets programme designed jointly by the Gokhale Institute of
Politics & Economics and the National Stock Exchange. The diploma for the 1
year Post Graduate Programme, weekend format, is awarded by the Gokhale
Institute of Politics & Economics, a deemed to be University u/s 3 of the
UGC Act, in collaboration with the National Stock Exchange.
Program – PGED-FM is a one year executive
programme that begins with a 2 days campus immersion schedule at a venue near
Pune followed by classes on every Saturday and Sunday at Pune and Mumbai for
the ease of working professionals.
Industry Vetted Content – NSE and GIPE
jointly deliver rich industry oriented curriculum designed to improve the
essential skills of the finance professionals. The content is continuously
updated based on innovation and leading practices in the financial industry.

skill development sessions are imparted to students which involve extensive
training through market simulation internet based software from NSE i.e. NLT
(NSE Learn to Trade).

challenging global scenario. It incorporates a 7-8 days tour to Singapore which
is a premier access point for asian capital and investment exposure.
Placement Assistance - NSE and GIPE have a
dedicated placement committee that acts as a link between students and

potential employers.
COURSE STRUCTURE
The programme has been designed to cover 20
papers in four quadmesters. Followings are the list of papers which are to be

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND SELECTION PROCESS
All participants must have completed
Graduation or a degree equivalent thereto from an Indian University /
Institutions recognised by Association of Indian Universities.
The candidate must have 2 years of work
experience (full time / part time).
Professional Qualifications like CA, CS,
CWA, CFA, MBA, etc. would have an added advantage.
The selection is based on scrutiny of
applications and interview conducted through NSE platform.
