THE INSTITUTE
Indian School of Mines (ISM), established in
1926, is a premier institution of international repute, fully funded by
Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
After successfully offering M.Tech. degree in
Industrial Engineering and Management since 1977, ISM has launched its AICTE
approved MBA program under the Department of Management Studies in 1997. The
Department has been constantly rated as one of the leading business schools of
the country by agencies of repute like AIMA-BS Survey, Business India, and The
Telegraph etc. Our placement record has been impressive since the inception of
the department.
ELIGIBILITY
A Bachelor’s degree after (10+2) in any
discipline from a recognized institution, with at least 50% marks in aggregate
or equivalent CGPA {45% in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST and DA
(Differently Abled Categories*)}.
For Honours graduates the aggregate will
include marks of both Honours and Pass Papers.
Candidates appearing for the final bachelor’s
degree/equivalent qualification examination can also apply. Preference would be
given to candidates having Engineering Degree or having Post Graduation
qualification in any discipline.

SELECTION
Applicant shall have to appear CAT - 2012.
Once they receive the CAT 2012 scores, they have to apply online at the
Application Submission System available at our institute’s website http://www.ismdhanbad.ac.in.
Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT
score will be called for Group Discussion and Interview for final selection.
The sanctioned strength for the MBA Program
is 62 and the reservation policy of Government of India meant for higher
educational institutions is strictly adhered to.
Candidates applying for reservation under OBC
(Non Creamy layer) category, should submit a valid OBC certificate issued by
competent authority after September 1, 2012.
APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Application fee of Rs. 2000/- (Rs.1000/- for
SC/ST and PD candidates) shall be paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favour
of Registrar, Indian School of Mines and payable at Dhanbad, and should be
submitted along with a print out of the filled-in online application form and
necessary documents to the Deputy Registrar (Exam & Academic), Indian
School of Mines, Dhanbad – 828206, Jharkhand.
Online Application Form Submission System will be available at ISM, Dhanbad
website from January 14, 2013 to February 22, 2013.
Last
date for submission of filled-in application form along with requisite fee and
other relevant documents is 5 PM of March 1, 2013.
Late
submission of application form due to postal delays or any other reasons will
not be considered by any means.
Date
of GD & PI on April 17, 18 & 19, 2013.
Declaration of results on website by May 06, 2013.
Date
of Admission for Merit List Candidates on May 27, 2013 (Monday), for Extended
Merit List Candidates on May 29, 2013 (Wednesday) and for vacant seats, if any
on July 01, 2013 (Monday).
All candidates seeking admission have to
report to the office by 11 AM on the respective dates.
NOTE: The institute will
not issue any letter to any candidate regarding attending GD/PI as well as
selection to the Program.

if any.
