Students will be admitted to the Five Year BS-MS
Dual Degree programme beginning August 2014 through the following channels
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Basic
Science Stream: Students qualifying in SA (2012)/SX (2013)/SB (2013)
Joint Entrance
Examination (Advanced) 2014: Students securing a place in the rank list of
Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) for admission to Indian Institutes of
Technology (IITs)
State and Central Boards: Those, who are eligible
for INSPIRE scholarship by Department of Science and Technology (DST) on the
basis of their aggregate scores in class XII may be considered for admission
after clearing an aptitude test

students eligible for admission to the BS-MS Dual Degree Programmes at the
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research at Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali,
Pune,Thiruvananthapuram,through the State/Central Board stream from 15th June 2014
to 10th July, 2014. The cut-off percentage of marks for students to
be eligible for seeking admission to the BS-MS Dual Degree Programmes at Indian
Institute of Science Education and Research(IISER) under the State/Central
Board Stream has been notified at http://www.iiser-admissions.in/index.php
.
Those who are eligible for INSPIRE scholarship by
Department of Science andTechnology (DST) on the basis of their aggregate
scores in class XII are eligible foradmission to the BS-MS Dual Degree
Programmes of IISERs, after clearing an aptitude test.The Cut-off Marks for
Class 12 (in percentage) for various boards are as follows.Andhra
Pradesh-97.10; Assam-75.80; Bihar-75.20; Chhattisgarh-82.80;
Goa-85.00;Gujarat-75.60; Haryana-86.40; Himachal Pradesh- 83.80; Jammu &
Kashmir- 88.80; Jharkhand-66.40; Karnataka-89.70; Kerala-95.08; Madhya Pradesh-
86.40; Maharashtra-78.67; Manipur-84.60; Meghalaya-71.60; Mizoram-71.40;
Nagaland- 67.50; Orissa-78.50; Punjab-86.00; Rajasthan-81.60; Tamil Nadu-95.75;
Tripura-71.80; Uttar Pradesh-84.80;Uttarakhand-72.60; West Bengal-80.40;
CBSE-94.60; ICSE-95.20. For OBC (non-creamy)
and PD, a 5% relaxation of the DST cut-off is tenable.For SC/ST the
cut-off is 55% in Class XII for all boards.
Those who have passed Class XII and are recipients
of the eligibility note from the school board for DST Inspire fellowship are
also eligible to apply. Cut-off specified here does not apply to such

from 15th June to 10th July 2014. Admission based
on the State and Central Boards channel will be based on an Aptitude Test to be
conducted by IISERs.
Counseling/Aptitude Test will be on 20th July,
2014. The centers for Aptitude Test/Counseling for State and Central Boards

(Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune); Thiruvananthapuram
(Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram) and Varanasi

. The link to the model questions for
the Aptitude test are available at http://www.iiser-admissions.in/faq.php The test will have 60 Multiple-choice
questions in four subjects, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics with
15 questions in each subject. The test will be of 3 hoursduration. Each correct
response will fetch 3 marks while each wrong response will result in loss of 1
mark.
