NIT MCA COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2012 (NIMCET-2012)

ELIGIBILITY
Indian Nationals securing atleast 60% marks aggregate or 6.5/10 CGPA (55% marks or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC, ST category) in
(i) 12th (i.e. 10 + 2) level or equivalent, with Mathematics as one of the subjects at either 10+1 or 10+2 level or at both the levels
AND
(ii) Qualifying Degree - Bachelor’s Degree of Full time* 3 year or more duration from a recognized University with at least one of the following as a chosen subject of study:

Mathematics, Statistics, Business Mathematics, Business Statistics, Discrete Mathematics,
Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science, Computational Mathematics,
Elementary Mathematics, Elementary Statistics are eligible to apply for NIMCET-2012.

The percentages of marks in 10+2 and qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all the subjects (including optional subjects, if any ) studied.
* Students who have completed/completing qualifying degree (programme of three year or more duration) from Open Universities are eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC or AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

@The candidates who are appearing for all the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET-2012. Such candidates shall have to furnish the the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2012 preferably at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 31st August, 2012, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs.

PROCESSING FEE


The processing Fee for NIMCET-2012 test and counselling for admission to the MCA programme is Rs.1500 /- for OPEN/OBC category and Rs. 750/- for SC/ST category candidates.
Candidates have to take Demand Draft for an appropriate amount relevant to their category. Demand Draft must be drawn in favor of “NIMCET-2012”, payable at Nationalized Bank in Warangal or Hanamkonda.
Candidates are advised to go to any Nationalised bank located at their places and take DD payable at Service Branch located in Warangal. However, the following branches of some banks are near NIT, Warangal.
Nearest branch of State Bank of Hyderabad is REC (NIT) branch having code 020149, located at near NIT Campus, Kazipet-Hanamkonda road, Warangal – 506 004. Nearest branch of State Bank of India is Velair branch having code 005326, SiddarthaNagar REC Post, Fatima Nagar, Kazipet, Warangal - 506004
Nearest branch of Andhra Bank is Fatima Nagar branch having code 000094, Catholic Church Campus, Fatima Nagar, Kazipet, Warangal – 506 004.
Candidates are required to write their name, address and Mobile/Phone Number and NIMCET-2012 Application Number generated, on the reverse side of the Demand Draft before sending to NIMCET-2012 office.



Online Registration For NIMCET -2012

Please read the following instructions very carefully before you fill-in on-line application form:

1. Before you start filling-in the on-line application form, scan (a) your recent passport size photograph (alternatively, get a digital passport size photograph) and (b) your signature and keep these ready for uploading. Separate files should be created for the scanned photograph and signature in appropriate format (.jpeg, .png only). Maximum size of photograph file and signature file are 30 KB and 10 KB respectively. Further, you should keep the demand draft in favor of "NIMCET-2012" payble at "Warangal", ready to fill the DD details in the space provided.
2. Use a Java script enabled browser (Internet Explorer 6.0 or above, or Mozila Firefox 3.0 or above).
3. Type the URL: http://nimcet2012.nitw.ac.in/ on your browser to get home page of NIMCET-2012.
4. “Login” tab is provided in the right panel of the home page with “New User” tab below it. Initially, press “New User” . Type your name (as given in your class SSC or 10th or equivalent certificate), email address, username and Password . Username Should contain at least six(6) aplha-numeric characters only, with the first two and last two being alphabets only. Password should contain at least six characters. The entries made here will be used in subsequent pages. After pressing “Submit” button, you will not be allowed to change the entries you made. However, you will be allowed to change password any number of times.
5. “New User” will be disabled after 2nd April, 2012 and no one will be permitted create online login thereafter.
6. Enter username and Password in the space provided for in right panel of the home page to fill Personal Information, Qualification and Demand Draft details.
7. The fields marked with red star are mandatory, fill all such fields; otherwise, you will not be allowed to save the data entered.
8. Fill-in all the fields in Personal Information Form.
9. Upload the photograph file and also the signature file by clicking “Choose File” in Personal Information and then selecting the corresponding file.
10. Fill-in all the three choices of examination centres in order of priority using drag-down menu. (An opted centre may be cancelled, if sufficient number of candidates does not opt it.) For any candidate, if all the selected choices of Centres are cancelled/not available, then NIT-WARANGAL Centre will be allotted to that candidate.
11. Complete all other fields and press the “Save” button given at the end of the page. To save the entered data, it is essential to press “Save” button on each page.
12. On pressing “Save & Continue” button in Personal Information Page, Educational Qualification Form will appear on screen.
13. Complete all the fields given in the form and press “Save & Continue” button given at the bottom of the page.
14. Complete all the required details of the bank draft on next page and then press “Save & Continue” button given at the bottom of the page.
15. You can review all the details.
16. At the end filling the application, candidate has press “FINAL SUBMIT” button.
17. Once “ FINAL SUBMIT” is pressed, the online data can not be altered.
18. Candidate has to take hard-copy of electronically submitted online application form by pressing “Print” button that appears after “submit” button is pressed.
19. An Application Number will be generated that will be displayed on right top of the Page-1 of the application form when you re-login after pressing the “Submit” button. Please note the application number for all future references and correspondence.
20. Take printout on A4 size paper of the page displayed on your computer screen after step 16. On this hard copy, put your signature at the bottom of each page and after the “Declaration” made in your application form.
21. Applicants will be permitted to submit application through online up to 9th April, 2012 only.
22. Enclose all the documents as listed in the check list (given in the next page). The completely filled-in application form along with all enclosures should be sent to

by speed post/registered post so as to reach on or before Monday, 16th April, 2012.
The application form can also be submitted in the office of NIMCET-2012 at NIT, Warangal by hand on all working days between 10.00AM and 05.00 PM.



NOTE:

1. If the dully-signed hard copy of the application form along with the original Demand draft and other documents is not received by the office of NIMCET-2012 on or before the last date Monday, 16th April, 2012, the application will be rejected.
2. Please check carefully the eligibility requirements of NIMCET-2012 as stated in this Information Brochure. If the requirements are not met, the application is liable for rejection.
3. OBC candidates will have to satisfy both the caste and creamy layer requirements detailed on the following National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) website:

Proforma for OBC certificate along with the undertaking given in Annexure I is to be submitted.
4. SC/ST category candidates and Persons with Physical Disability (PD) candidates should use the respective Pro-forma given in Annexure II and III.
