Admission to M. Sc. Courses (2012-13)

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals only for admission to M.Sc. courses in Basic and Applied Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Applied Geology and Food Processing & Nutrition Sciences) for the session 2012-13.

Programmes and Eligibility:

Master of Science in Physics: 

i) BSc Hons. or equivalent in Physics from a recognized Indian University.

ii) 55% marks in Hons. or equivalent (45% SC / ST candidates) subject with Mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects

Master of Science in Chemistry:

i) BSc (Hons.) or equivalent in Chemistry from a recognized Indian University.

ii) 55% marks in Hons. or equivalent (45% SC / ST candidates) subject with Physics and Mathematics as subsidiary subjects

Master of Science in Applied Mathematics:

i) BSc (Hons.) or equivalent in Mathematics from a recognized Indian University.

ii) 50% marks in Hons. or equivalent (40% SC / ST candidates) subject

Master of Science in Applied Geology:

BSc (Hons.) or equivalent in Geology from a recognized Indian University.

Or

BSc (Hons or equivalent in any subject with 55% (45% SC / ST candidates) marks in Hons. and Geology as a subsidiary subject with 55% (45% SC / ST candidates) marks from a recognized Indian University.

Masters of Science in Food Processing & Nutrition Science:

i) BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Chemistry / Physiology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Food and Nutrition Science / Genetics from a recognized Indian University.

ii) 55% (45% SC / ST candidates) marks in Hons.or equivalent Subject.

iii) Chemistry as one of the Subsidiary subjects in BSc iv) Mathematics may be one subject in HS

Application form has to be downloaded from the link:

The filled up application form along with a DD of Rs. 500/- ( Rs. 200/- for SC / ST) drawn in favour of 'The Registrar, BESUS' payable at Kolkata are to submitted at the admission cell on all working days between 10.30 am - 1.30 pm and from 2.30 pm - 4.30 pm till 15.07.2012.

The application form must be accompanied by copies of 

(a) Mark sheet of BSc (Hons) (Part I and Part II),

(b) age verification certificate, 

(c) mark sheet of 10+2 or equivalent examination, 

(d) Madhyamik marks sheet (e) SC / ST / PH certificate, in the name of the candidate for Reserved Category, if applicable
