Summer School on VLSI Design (SSVD-2012)
It is my pleasure to inform you that Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, BIT, Mesra, Ranchi, is going to organize a Summer School on VLSI Design (SSVD-2012) from 15 May 2012 to 29 May 2012 in 3 phases – for UG/PG students in 1st phase (15-19 May 2012) and 2nd phase (20-24 May 2012), for Ph.D. tudents/teachers in 3rd phase (25 May to 29 May 2012). This course is designed based on the demands of companies for trained man power in Analog and Digital VLSI Design. This course will cover theory with practical on available advanced technology tools such as Virtuoso Analog Design Environment of Cadence (GPDK45nm), Xilinx's Integrated Software Environment, Aldec's Active-HDL (VHDL and Verilog Integrated Programming Environment) along with Spartan2/Sparta3E/Virtex4 FPGA/CPLD kits. Lectures will be delivered by course experts of this Institute. I request you to circulate this notice among the students/teachers and nominate interested candidates from your premier institute/college to attend the summer school.
Objective of SSVD-2012 course: On successful completion of this course a candidate will be able to effectively work on: Analog VLSI Design, Digital VLSI Design, Schematic Level Design & Verification, Circuit Level Design, VHDL and Verilog programming, Xilinx and Active HDL simulation, Xilinx and VHDLbased Embedded System Design.

Qualifications & Fees: Registration fee for students [BE/B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. (ECE/CSE/EEE/IT) & M.Sc. Electronics/Phy. & Elect/CS] is Rs. 5000/- (for Ph.D. students/teachers is Rs. 8000/-) in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, payable at Ranchi.
Note:
(a) Institute will provide free lodging, boarding and course materials.
(b) Special accommodation in Guest House is available on advance booking and chargable @ Rs. 600 per day (non ac), @ Rs. 800 per day (ac).
(c) Last date of registration is 5th May 2012 (student), 10th May (teacher)
(d) Registration will be on first cum first serve basis, as limited seats are available
(e) 10% discount is offered to students/teachers of BIT extension centers
