ADMISSION NOTIFICATION-2012
Applications are invited from the Graduates in the prescribed form available at the University Enquiry Counter on payment of Rs. 70.00 between 11.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. from 23.07.2012 to 31. 07.2012 (except Saturday, Sunday & Holiday) for admission to the following courses for the academic session 2012-13. On-line Application Form through the web Portal http://onlineadmission.vidyasagar.ac.in accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs 100/- in favour of Vidyasagar University payable at Midnapore may be submitted along with the attested copies of testimonials.. Separate applications will have to be made, if a candidate desires to apply in more than one subject.
(a) As per Govt. Order No. 87/IS(MR)/12 dated 21st June, 2012 , 60% seats of the PG and other courses for the academic year 2012-13 will be reserved exclusively for the students of V.U and the students will be admitted on the marks secured in the Honours subject and 40% of the seats in each PG department would be opened up for open competition (Entrance Test )for the students of other universities / Colleges.
The candidates of V.U. may appear at the Entrance Test for 40% seats. Selection will be made strictly on the marks obtained in the Entrance Test. The detailed programme of the Entrance Test will be notified later on.
(b) The minimum marks for appearing at Entrance Test for 40% seats are as follows :
(i) Arts and Commerce – 45% Marks in Hons.(for Gen. candidates)
- 40% Marks in Hons.(for SC/ST candidates)
(ii) Science – 50% Marks in Hons.(for Gen candidates)
- 45 % Marks in Hons.(for SC/ST candidates)
(c) Questions will be MCQ pattern; Full Marks – 50; Total No. of questions – 50(No alternative)
Time – One and half hour
(d) The date of Entrance Test will be notified later on.
(e) The eligible candidates will have to download the Admit Card from the University Website

(f) The date of issuing Admit Card will be notified later on.

(ii) Two-year M.B.A. Course( AICTE approved )
Eligibility: For SL.NO.(i), B.Com.( Hons). in 2011 / 2012. For SL.NO.(ii), Graduate in Science / Arts / Commerce / Medical / Engineering / Law (5-year) under 10+2+3 stream or equivalent with 45% marks in Hons. or in aggregate ( 40% marks for SC / ST ). Selection will be made through Entrance Test Like JEMAT, MAT, CAT or own test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. 3.Two-year M.Sc. Courses in (i) Physics, (ii) Chemistry, (iii) Applied Mathematics, (iv) Zoology, (v) Botany, (vi) ) Computer Science, (vii) Anthropology, (viii) Electronics, (ix) Geography, (x) Human Physiology, (xi) Microbiology, (xii) Aquaculture Management & Technology, (xiii) Remote Sensing & Geographical Information System, (xiv) Bio-medical Laboratory Science and Management, (xv) Bio-chemistry (off campus), (xvi) Bio-technology (off campus), (xvii) Nutrition and Dietetics (off campus),( xviii) Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, (xix) PG Diploma in Quality Control and Assurance in Microbial Technology
Eligibility: For SL. NO.(i) to (v),(ix) to(xi), Hons. in the relevant subject in 2011/ 2012.
For SL.NO.(vi), Hons. in Computer Science / Physics / Mathematics.
For SL.NO.(vii),Hons.in Anthropology (preferred) / Botany / Physiology / Zoology / Social Science / Geography.

For SL.No(xiv), BMLT/ M.Sc in Human Physiology in 2011/2012 / B.Sc (Hons) in 2011 / 2012 in Physiology / Zoology / Botany / Molecular Biology / Microbiology / Bio-chemistry / BioTechnology / B.Sc. with DMLT / B.Sc. in Laboratory Instrumentation / BAMS / BHMS / MBBS. For SL.No (xv), Hons in Bio-chemistry / Chemistry / Botany / Zoology / Physiology / Microbiology / Molecular Biology / Genetics.. For SL.No (xvi), Hons in Bio-tech / Hons in any Bio-Science subject. Eligibility : M.A. in Political Science with 55 % marks ( 50% marks for SC / ST category )
5.One year Bachelor Degree in Library and information Science
Eligibility: Hons. Graduate in any Discipline in 2011 / 2012 or M.A / M.Com. / M.Sc. in 2011/ 2012
6.One year Master Degree in Library and information Science
Eligibility: BLISc in 2011 / 2012
7.One year P.G. Diploma Course in (i) Mass Communication & Videography, (ii) Applied Computer Science
Eligibility: For (i) & (ii), Graduate ( Pass/ Hons. ) in any subject
8. Diploma Course in Advanced Hardware & Networking Administration ( 6 months ) .
Eligibility: At least H.S. passed.
9.Certificate Course in Basic & Advance Java ( 3 months ) Eligibility : At least H.S. passed
10. One year Diploma Course in Office Automation and Internet Technologies
Eligibility : P.G. / UG Regular /Ex-students of this University in any discipline
Important Point. : Ragging in all its forms in Vidyasagar University is strictly prohibited as per the order of the Supreme Court of India.

Merit lists (for 60% seats – VU students only) will be published on the University Notice Board on 10.08.2012
Date(s) of admission (from the Merit List through counselling), commencement of classes and the amount of fees to be paid will be notified with the respective lists.
