ADMISSION NOTICE FOR FIVE-YEAR INTEGRATED M.Sc. PROGRAMME IN ACADEMIC SESSION 2012-2013
University Grants Commission in its XI Five year plan accepted the recommendation of the High Level Committee (HLC) constituted by Honorable President of India to introduce a Five-Year Integrated PRogramme in Physical Science under Siksha-Bhavana (Institute of Science), Visva-Bharati. The course is intended for attracting highly motivated and talented students to research and education in basic sciences. After successful completion of the course, an M.Sc. Degree in Five Year Integrated Sceince will be awarded to the candidates.
Students seeking admission to this course at Visva-Bharati must qualify in National Entrance Screening Test (NEST - 2012) conducted jointly by National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai - DAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Science.
Applications have been invited by Visva-Bharati, Santhiniketan for admission to Five-Year Integrated MSc degree course of Academic Year 2012-13.
Eligibility:
Students securing at least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII (or equivalent) examination from any recognized Board of education in India are eligible to apply. For Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, the minimum requirement is 55%.
Students seeking admission to this course at Visva-Bharati must qualify in National Entrance Screening Test 2012 (NEST-2012), conducted jointly by National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai - DAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences.
Scholarship:
The students admitted to the Five-Year Integrated MSc Programme at Visva-Bharati will receive DST INSPIRE Scholarship @Rs.5000.00 pm plus Rs.20000.00 as Mentor cost p.a. from Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt of India.
Intake capacity and Reservation: The Intake capacity is 21. Reservation of seats for SC, ST, PH and Other Backward Classess (OBC) category candidates will be made as per Govt. of India rules.
Last date for receipt of request for admission is 30th July 2012. The List of Eligible Candidates for admission will be published in the website: www.visva-bharati.ac.in subsequently.
