Notice 2013-2014
Applications
are invited by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam for admission to the
Integrated MSc PhD Programme at the School of Chemical Sciences for the
academic year 2013-’14.
Eligibility for Admission:
BSc Degree
in Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics as Subsidiaries with not less than
50% marks or equivalent grade in Part III.
3 seats are
reserved for candidates having degree in Physics with Mathematics and Chemistry
as Subsidiaries with not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in Part III.
Admission and Application Procedure:
1.
Application forms can be downloaded from the Website www.mgu.ac.in (only)
2.
Candidates should remit the Registration Fee of Rs. 400/-. The Registration Fee
can be remitted by way of challan / Pay-in-slip at any branch of SBT (Challan
can be downloaded from the MG University website) / University Cash Counter /
Friends Janasevana Kendram. SC / ST candidates need to pay only 50% of the
registration fee. Those candidates who have already applied for the
conventional MSc Programme of the School of Chemical Sciences vide Notification
No.Ac A1/2/2408/2013 dated 27.05.2013, should submit a fresh application
indicating their order of preference if they are desirous of applying for the
Integrated MSc PhD Programme also. Such candidates need not remit registration
fee again. In their case a copy of the pay-in-slip in respect of the earlier
remittance of registration fee for the MSc.Programme should be submitted along
with the fresh application.
3. Last date for receipt of filled
up application forms along with the Registration fee in the Office of the
Deputy Registrar (Acad I), Mahatma Gandhi University, Priyadarsini Hills P.O.,
Kottayam – 686 560 is (extended) 29.06.2013. The name of the course and the
School to which applied for shall be super scribed on the envelope.

Candidates awaiting final year results of qualifying examination can also
apply, provided they produce mark list of the qualifying examination before the
finalization of the rank list.
5.
Admission to the Programmes shall be on the basis of the marks / grades
obtained in the qualifying examination and common entrance examination (in the
ratio of 50:50).
6. A Common
Entrance Test of one hour duration will be held on 22.06.2013 at selected
Centres in Kottayam and Ernakulam. The Entrance Test shall comprise of
objective type multiple choice questions.
