LBS Centre for Science & Technology has invited applications for admission to the following Professional Degree Courses 2011 of Kerala State in Nursing, Pharmacy & Paramedical
Degree courses:
Bachelor of Science- Nursing (BSc Nursing)
Bachelor of Science - Medical Laboratory Technology [BSc (MLT)]
Bachelor of Science - Optometry [BSc(Optometry)]
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)
Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP)
Bachelor of Cardio Vascular Technology (BCVT)
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
Academic Eligibility:
BSc Nursing, BSc (MLT), BSc (Optometry), BCVT, BPT Courses:
(a) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible.
(b) For admission to BPT Course, candidates should have studied English as a subject at 12th standard / Plus Two levels.
(c) Candidates who have passed the BSc Degree (Three year course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biochemistry as Main, and any one or two of the above subjects as Subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main & Subsidiaries taken together, subject to the condition that they have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission to BSc (Nursing), and BSc (MLT) courses.
BASLP Course:
For admission to BASLP Course, the candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examinations of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or Examinations recognized equivalent thereto with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Mathematics / Computer Science / Statistics / Electronics /
Phycology put together, are eligible.
B.Pharm Course:
For admission to BPharm Course, candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science put together are eligible.
Pharm.D Course:
(i) For admission to PharmD Course, candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology / Mathematics separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics put together are eligible.
OR
(ii) A pass in DPharm Course with a minimum of 50% marks in DPharm examination from an institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act. (20 % of the total seats is reserved for candidates with DPharm qualification).
Application:
Application for admission to all the courses - BSc Nursing, BSc (MLT), BSc(Optometry), BPT, BCVT, BPharm, BASLP and PharmD - can be registered only online through a single application. The provision for applying online is available at the websites www.lbscentre.org or www.lbskerala.com . Submission of more than one application by a candidate will lead to rejection of the candidature.
The application fee will be as follows:
For General candidates: Rs. 500/-
For SC / ST candidates: Rs. 250/-
Application fee can be remitted at any one of the branches of the Scheduled Bank in Kerala.
Availability of Prospectus:
On payment of the prescribed fee at the Bank, the Applicant will be issued a receipt which will carry a unique Application Number & Security key. The candidate is requested to maintain strict confidentiality of his / her security key to protect his / her interest. Prospectus can be obtained from any one of the Facilitation Centres of LBS Centre for Science & Technology on production of the receipt.

Submission of Application Form:
There will be two stages for the submission of application, both of which are mandatory. Candidates shall complete / fulfill both the stages as per the time schedule, which will be notified through the website/media.
Stage I
Online Registration of personal data and submission of Application form (Printout) of the candidates.
Stage II
Forwarding of downloaded Academic facing Sheet duly signed in along with attested copies of mark list(s).
The candidate must visit the website www.lbscentre.org or www.lbskerala.com and perform online registration using his / her Application Number, Security Key and soft copy of the recently taken Passport Size photo in JPEG format with size not more than 20 KB. The candidate must click the link “Admission to Professional Degree Courses 2011 in Nursing, Pharmacy and Paramedical streams”.
He / She will have to initially login to the web site using the ‘Application Number’ and ‘Security Key’. The candidate will have to create and submit a ‘Password’ which must be made up of numerals or alphabets or a combination of both. On successful submission of the password, the candidate will be taken to a Home page. Then he / she has to upload softcopy of his / her Photograph and then enter and ‘SAVE’ the personal data. A ‘Registration ID’ will be generated by the computer on completing the online registration. On completion of online registration, the candidate has to take a printout which is the Application form.
This Application form, along with attested copies of certificates to prove all personal claims and copy of Hall ticket of Higher Secondary / equivalent examination (for appeared candidates) /mark list(s) of Higher Secondary/equivalent examination (if passed), shall be sent to The Director, LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Extra Police Road, Nandavanam, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram – 695033, Kerala
