PUBLIC NOTICE
RENEWAL OF REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES
Coastal Aquaculture farmers engaged in the farming
of shrimp, fish or any other aquatic organisms in saline or brackishwater
within the coastal area notified by the Government are once again reminded that
the registration certificates issued by the Coastal Aquaculture Authority for
their coastal aquaculture farms are initially valid only for a period of five years
from the date of issue which need to be renewed before two months of the expiry
in order to continue the farming activity for a further period of five years.
Applications for renewal need to be made to the Member Convener, District Level
Committee (DLC) in the prescribed format (Form III) along with the photocopy of
the registration certificate issued by CAA and the required application fee.
Details regarding application format for renewal (Form III) and other details
are available in CAA's website http://www.caa.gov.in
and could also be obtained from the
Member Convener of the concerned District Level Committee. It is also informed
that letters addressed to the farmers by CAA could not be delivered in many
cases due to the change of communication address. Farmers should inform Member
Secretary, CAA as well as Member Convener, DLC about any change in the
communication address.
Continuation of coastal aquaculture activities
beyond the validity period without renewal would be treated as unauthorized
farming which would result in imprisonment for a term which may extend to three
years or with fine extending to Fts.1.00 lakhs or both as stipulated in Section
14 of the CAA Act, 2005.
