MBBS Admission Notice 2014-2015

Army College of Medical Sciences (ACMS), Delhi Cantt-10, affiliated to Guru Gobind Sing Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) and recognized by Medical Council of India, has notified the admissions to the MBBS Programme at the Institute for 2014-15.  The admission to the ACMS is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, Ex-Army personnel and war widows/widows of the Army.

The children of the categories of Army personnel specified below are eligible for admission to ACMS for MBBS. They have to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to ACMS, at time of Counseling/Admission:

(a) The applicants must fall into one of the following categories (Certificate No 1 as given in Part-E: Appendix-20 A of University Admission Brochure has to be submitted)
(i) Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army
(ii) Children of Ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, family pension, liberalized family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge or Release/ Invalidment Medical Board. This includes children of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension.
(iii) Children of Ex-Army personnel who have taken discharge or been released after ten years of service.

(b)  Adopted/step children and children of remarried widows (Certificate No 2 as given in Part-E Appendix-20B of University Admission Brochure to be submitted).
(i) Adopted Children of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.
(ii) Step children are eligible, provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army and who is otherwise eligible.

(c)  Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases (Certificate No 3 as given in Part-E Appendix -20 C of University Admission Brochure to be submitted).
(i) Children of Army Medical/Dental Corps Officers presently serving with Navy or Air Force who have served in the Army for at least 10 years.
(ii) Children of APS personnel classified as Ex-serviceman as per Govt. of India, Ministry of Defense, letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dated 19 July, 1989.
(iii) Children of APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
(iv) Children of APS personnel who are directly recruited into APS & competed 10 years of service and who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.
(v) Children of members of MNS who have 10 years’ service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army.
(vi) Children of TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

Final eligibility for admission will be decided by the ACMS at the time of Counseling and also later during the scrutiny of documents by the University. If a candidate is found to be ineligible at any time before or after the commencement of course, the College reserves the right to cancel his/her candidature without any refund of the fees/charges paid.

The following additional documents are required to be produced in Original along with a photocopy, at the time of Counselling/Admission to ACMS.
(i) Proof of eligible category (Certificate as applicablehas to be submitted).
(ii) Card/Serving Certificate and Dependant Card.
(iii) Willingness Certificate as per Part-E: Appendix-20-D of University Admission Brochure (Certificate No 4).

Children of Air Force, Navy and Paramilitary forces like CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, Assam Riffles, GREF and DSC are not eligible for the admission in ACMS. Admissions in ACMS are subject to the decision of High Court of Delhi or any further directions from Govt of Delhi.

There are 100 seats for MBBS of which 82 are for army wards and 18 are for SC/ST. All those seek admission to MBBS programme must appear in the Common Entrance Test with (CET Code 103), which will be conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Sector-16 C, Dwarka, New Delhi-110078.

There will be two stages of the Common Entrance Test. Stage I of the Common Entrance Test will be conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, from 2 pm to 5 pm on 27.4.2014 at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kolkata and Lucknow. CET will have One Question Paper in English medium with 200 objective type, multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology. Each question shall carry 3 marks. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.Only qualified candidates of Stage I will be allowed to appear in Stage II Entrance Test.

Stage II of the Common Entrance Test for the qualified candidates of Stage-I will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on 2.6.2014 (Monday) at New Delhi only. CET will have one question paper in English medium with 200 objective type, multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology. Each question shall carry 3 marks. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The application for CET (code 103) is required to be submitted online only at www.ipu.ac.in. Those eligible and interested in admissions may refer to GGSIPU Admission Brochure 2014-15 at the university website for further details.

The last date for submission of CET application forms is 4 pm on 10th April 2014 (Thursday).

Based on the result of Common Entrance Test: CET Code 103 (Stage-II) (CET:MBBS-2014), separate merit lists will be prepared for each category. As per the Medical Council of India Guidelines, the candidates for admission must have come in the merit list prepared as a result of competitive Common Entrance Test: CET Code 103 [CET: MBBS-2014] (Stage-II) by securing not less than 50% marks for General Category Candidates and 40% in case of SC/ST Category Candidates, subject to availability of seats for these categories in respective institutions. Accordingly, names of only those candidates who secure 50% or more marks (40% or more in case of SC / ST candidates) in the Common Entrance Test : CODE 103 [CET:MBBS-2014 (Stage-II)] will be included in the merit lists.

In the case of a tie where in, the candidates obtaining equal marks in the Common Entrance Test, the inter se merit will be decided on their performance in the Common Entrance Test: CET Code 103 (Stage-II only) by first eliminating the marks secured in the Physics portion of the CET, and if there is still a tie then by eliminating the marks secured in the Chemistry portion of the CET and if there is still a tie then by eliminating the marks secured in the biology portion of the CET. If a tie still exists, the candidate older in age will be preferred.

Applicant should be an Indian citizen and should not be less than 17 years of age as on the 31st December, 2014. Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are not eligible. Applicant should have passed the 12th  Class under the 10+2 Scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or an equivalent examination of the recognised University/Board of any Indian State with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (Core or Elective or Functional) and must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (Core or Elective or Functional) individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% in case of SC/ST candidates,subject to availability of seat for these categories in the respective institutions).

Those who have appeared in the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (Core or Elective or Functional) and expect to pass the examination with required percentage of marks are also eligible to apply and appear in the CET: MBBS & BDS–2014. However, their candidature will be considered only if they are able to produce documentary evidence of having passed the qualifying examination with the required subjects and percentage of marks at the time of counselling for admission. There will be no rounding-off of the percentage of marks of qualifying examination while deciding the basic eligibility of any candidate for admission.


The cases of candidates who have qualified CET 2014, but have Compartment/ Supplementary in any paper of the qualifying examination degree at any stages, will be considered by the Admission Officer as per University policy.
