Integrated MPhil/PhD in Applied Economics Admission Notice
2014-2015
Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Trivandrum,
Kerala has invited applications for admission to its full-time programmes
leading to Integrated MPhil/PhD in Applied Economics. The Programmes will
commence on August 01, 2014.
ELIGIBILITY:
Masters in
any subject
Those who have a master’s degree can apply for the
course. Those awaiting results of the qualifying examination may also apply.
Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the Programme only if
their previous institutions certify that they have completed all requirements
for award of degree. The name of such candidate shall stand automatically
removed from the rolls of the Centre & University if he/she fails Master’s programme,
when his/her results are announced.
The
Selection Process:
Selection is based on an entrance test and
interview. Entrance test is scheduled on May 25th 2014 from 10.00am to 12.00
noon at Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram.
Candidates will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of the written test.
Interview is scheduled on July 1 & 2, 2014 at CDS, Thiruvananthapuram.
Minimum
Marks to be obtained in the interview in order to be considered for selection
· General Category – 40%
· OBC (NCL) - 36%
· SC/ST/PH - 30%

Copies of Mark sheets and Certificates of
Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees
Study Proposal written in English (Please read the
guidelines with the Application form for details)
Application Fee of Rs. 200, as a DD drawn in favour
of the Centre for Development Studies, payable at Trivandrum.
SC, ST and PH (with ≥ 40% disability) applicants
are exempted from payment of the application fee
The application with enclosures should reach the Academic
Programme Office, Centre for Development Studies, Ulloor, Medical College
(P.O), Thiruvananthapuram 695 011, KERALA on or before April 21, 2014.
