Post Graduate Diploma Admission Notice 2014
Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), an
Internationally-known centre for training and research in Mass Communication
and an autonomous body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt
of India, has invited applications for the following Post Graduate Diploma
Programmes at various Centres of the Institute, to be held from August 2014 to
May 2015.
(i) Journalism (English) at New Delhi, Dhenkanal
(Odisha), Aizawl (Mizoram), Amravati (Maharashtra), Jammu (J&K) and
Kottayam (Kerala). There are 62 seats each at New Delhi and Odhisa. At all
other centres there are 15 seats.
(ii) Journalism (Hindi), New Delhi (62 seats)
(iii) Radio & Television Journalism, New Delhi
(46 seats)
(iv) Advertising and Public Relations, New Delhi
(70 seats)
(v) Journalism (Odia) Dhenkanal (Odisha) (23 seats)
Five seats available in each Course for NRIs/NRIs
sponsored candidates, for which a separate prescribed application form should
be submitted. Applicant should hold a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
Those who have appeared/are appearing in final degree examinations are also
eligible to apply. Applicant should have been born on or after 1.8.1989. Those
of SC/ST/PH categories born on or after 1.8.1984 and those of OBC born on or after 1.8.1986 are also eligible.
Reservation of seats for SC/ST/PH/OBC categories
will be as per Government of India orders. The medium of instruction and
examination will be Hindi and/or English. For Journalism (Odia), it will be
Odia.
Limited Hostel facility/accommodation will be
available at Delhi and Aizawl for outstation girl candidates only. At
Dhenkanal, Amravati, Jammu & Kottayam, facilities will be available for
both boys and girls. The fee for Journalism (English) and Journalism (Hindi)
will be Rs. 55,000/-. For Radio &
Television Journalism, it will be Rs. 1,00,000/-. For Advertising and Public
Relations, it is Rs. 77,000/- and for Journalism (Odia), it will be Rs.
30,000/-.
Selection to the Programme will be based on an
Entrance Examination to be held on 31stMay 2014 at New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata,
Bangalore, Patna, Lucknow, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, Chennai,Jammu, Srinagar,
Kochi, Nagpur, Aizawl and Guwahati centres. However, Entrance Examination for
Post-graduate Diploma Course in Journalism (Odia)will be held on 1stJune 2014
at Bhubaneshwar Centre only.

Interview will be held in the last week of
June/First week of July, 2014.For Post-graduate Diploma Course in Journalism
(Odia), it will be held at Dhenkanal (Odisha) and for all other courses, it
will be held at New Delhi.
Application forms can be purchased in person or by
post. Application forms and prospectus can be obtained on payment of Rs. 1200/-
for general category and Rs.1100/- for SC/ST/OBC/PH category through a Demand
Draft only, drawn on any scheduled bank payable to Registrar IIMC at New Delhi,
from IIMC New Delhi or IIMC Dhenkanal (Odisha).
Request for application forms should be accompanied by the Demand Draft & a
self-addressed envelope of 27x17 cm, with stamps worth Rs.70/- affixed.
The application form can also be filled after
downloading it from www.iimc.gov.in. The Completed application form must be accompanied
by a Demand Draft of Rs. 1200/- for General & Rs.1100/- for
SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped categories drawn in favour of Registrar, IIMC
New Delhi.
There is a common application form for Journalism
(English) and Journalism (Hindi). There are separate application forms/entrance
examinations for the other courses. Those who wish to apply for more than one Course
will have to fill separate application forms for each Course they wish to apply
for.
Last date for issue of application forms is April
30, 2014.Completed application forms with DD should reach Registrar, IIMC,
ArunaAsaf Ali Marg,New Delhi-110067 on or before April 30, 2014.
