Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has invited applications for the Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test, a common written test and a mandatory test for admission to the Post-Graduate Institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
SNAP is the first step of the admission process. In addition, an applicant has to undergo the selection process of the desired Institute to qualify for the admission to the Post-Graduate Programme of that Institute.

SNAP Test will be conducted at Agra, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Noida, Patna, Pune, Surat, Vashi and Visakhapatanam from 2 pm to 4 pm on 20th December, 2009 (Sunday).
SNAP Test of 120 minutes duration, is an objective test with four sections carrying a total of 180 marks. The four sections are (i) General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability (40 marks) (ii) Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency (40 marks) (iii) General Awareness: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Business Scenario (40 marks) (iv) Analytical & Logical Reasoning (60 marks). Each question will have 4 responses. Each wrong answer attracts 25% negative marks.
A student aspiring to do higher studies at Symbiosis International (Deemed University) should first register online, for SNAP Test, at www.snaptest.org as per the instructions at the site, latest by 24.11.2009. The applicant will have to give the details asked for at the site. Latest scanned photograph of the applicant will have to be uploaded at the site at the time of SNAP Online Registration. On giving the details, SNAP ID of the applicant will be generated. After successful registration, the applicant will get an email containing his/her your SNAP ID and SNAP password which has to be used for all future correspondence with the Symbiosis Test Secretariat Office and also to enter the online application form to make any modification to the details provided by the applicant.
Test fee of Rs. 1500/- has to be paid as per the instructions at the site. Based on the mode of payment (Cash/DD/Credit Card/Net Banking), different 'Payment Advice' formats are created for the applicant. The applicant has to choose a payment mode and print a 'Payment Advice' form online.
For payment of Test Fee by cash, applicant has to print 'Axis Bank Challan' having 3 parts, from the site. An amount of Rs. 1500/- has to be paid by cash at any one of the selected branches of Axis Bank (List of branches is given on the website). The Bank will return two stamped parts of the 'Axis Bank Challan' to the applicant. The 'Student copy' is the receipt of the applicant. The stamped 'Symbiosis copy' of the 'Axis Bank Challan' has to be signed by the Applicant and sent to 'Symbiosis Test Secretariat, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Symbiosis Knowledge Village, Lavale, Mulshi, Pune-411042', to reach there latest by 1st December, 2009 (Tuesday)
For remittance through DD, applicant should get a Demand Draft for Rs. 1500/- from any Nationalize Bank in favour of 'Symbiosis Test Secretariat', payable at Pune. The applicant should sign the single copy of the 'Payment Advice' for DD and send it along with the DD to 'Symbiosis Test Secretariat, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Symbiosis Knowledge Village, Lavale, Mulshi, Pune-411042, to reach there by 1st December, 2009 (Tuesday)
Payment of fee can be made through Master or Visa card online as per the instructions on the SNAP website.Fee can be transferred to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account using Net Banking option also as per the instructions at the site.Payment Closes on 27th November, 2009 (Friday).
After Registering for SNAP, the applicant has to remit the Application fee of Rs.1000/- to the desired constituent institutes of SIU, as per the instructions given on institute website. The SNAP website allows a facility for online payment for application fee for many of these institutes. Application can be submitted to more than one institute also.
Admit Card for SNAP can be printed from www.snaptest.org from 7th December, 2009, (Monday) to 20th December, 2009 (Sunday). Candidate should note that no duplicate Admit Card will be issued in case it is lost by the candidate. The Admit Card along with Photo Identity proof has to be brought to the Test Centre when attending the Test. An acceptable photo identity card includes Passport/Driving license/College/Institute identity card/Credit card with photograph/Voter ID Card.
Result of SNAP will be announced on 12th January, 2010 (Tuesday). SNAP Score will remain valid for admission to all Post Graduate Programmes of SIU for the academic year of 2010-11. The SNAP Score card will be available on the website up to 12th February, 2010 (Friday). Candidates can take a print-out of the result.
The third stage of the process is the admission. Each institute has its own method for arriving at a cutoff, depending on its focused field as mentioned in the Prospectus. The institutes will announce a short list for attending further selection process. The individual institutes as per their schedules will announce admission results.
