Candidates with Master's Degree or equivalent in any branch of science (Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Pharmacy) or in chemical/biochemical engineering who have qualified to be eligible to receive a doctoral junior research fellowship (JRF) after passing any of the following examinations, CSIR/UGC NET, DBT JRF examination ('A' Category), or ICMR JRF examination are eligible. Maximum age limit to apply for the course is 28 but is relaxable to SC/ST as per Govt. of India rules.
Candidtes who seeks the admission to the above course have to appear for a walk in Interview on July, 14th 2010 from 9.00 AM to 12.OO PM at Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Sector 39-A, Chandigarh-160 036. Prior to the above, a confirmation has to be sought from IMTECH by sending a mail to phd@imtech.res.in.
Candidates walk-in for the interview has to be carried with the following: Attested photograph and 3 copies of a write-up in the prescribed format (downloaded from IMTECH website), stating: 1. Name 2. Full address for correspondence, telephone/fax/mobile numbers, e-mail address 3. Region (North/South/East/West); 4. Male/Female; 5. Date of Birth 6. Which category do you belong: SC/ST/OBC/General. 7. NET (CSIR/UGC) or Junior Research Fellowship Examination (ICMR/DBT) Passed: Yes/No. 8. Roll No and date of passing of NET or equivalent examination. 9. Present occupation. 10. Marks obtained in M.Sc. Part I and II, name of Institute, date of passing and subjects studied. Kindly bring original and attested copies of (a) All certificates (school leaving, B.Sc., M.Sc., etc.), (b) Proof of passing NET (a copy of certificate or roll number along with newspaper clipping showing result with roll number highlighted).
