All India Under Graduate Entrance Test, NUUGET-2012

NITTE University, University Enclave, 6th floor, Medical Sciences Complex, Deralakatte, Mangalore-575018, has invited applications for the All India Under Graduate Entrance Test, NUUGET-2012, for admission to MBBS at K S Hegde Medical Academy (150 seats) and for BDS at A. B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences (100 seats), constituent colleges of the University, for the academic year 2012-13.

NUUGET-2012 will be held at Bangalore (Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology,P.B 6429, Govindapura, Gollahalli,Yelahanka Bangalore-560064), Delhi (venue will be announced later), Ernakulam (Bhavans Vidya Mandir,Giri Nagar, Kadavinthara,Ernakulam-682020), Hyderabad (Gokaraju Rangaraju College of Pharmacy, Nizampet Road, Baechupally, Hyderabad-590092, Andra Pradesh), Kolkatta (Ultadanga United High School, H S Section Co-Ed with Science & Commerce, 49, Ultadanga Road, Kolkata-700 004), Mangalore (K S Hegde Medical Academy,Deralakatte, Mangalore-575018), Mumbai (St. Xavier’s College , Mahapalika Marg , Mumbai-400001), from 10 am to 1 pm on 7.5.2012 (Monday).

The Test will have one question paper in English, of 3 hours duration (one booklet) consisting of 180 multiple choice questions with 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each carrying 1 mark. There will be at least 4 versions of the question paper booklet. The serial number of question differs from version to version. Each question will be followed by four alternatives. The most appropriate answers are to be marked on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) type Answer sheet as per instruction on it, using a black or blue ball point pen. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The syllabus will ordinarily be that prescribed for Class 12 of C.B.S.E schools.

The final rank list is generated based on the scores in the Entrance Test for those who score 50% or more. In case of tie, those with higher marks in Chemistry and Biology together in Entrance Test and then by marks in Biology in Entrance Test will be placed higher in ranking.

Applicant must be 17 or more years of age as on 31.12.2012 and should have passed the Second year Pre-University or 12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. SC/ST applicants need only 40% marks. Those whose 10+2 results are not yet announced may also apply. However they should submit the attested copies of the marks card before 20.6.2012 so that they can be considered for counselling if they have scored more than the minimum specified in the qualifying examinations.

Fee structure & Seat Matrix Will be made known at least 2 weeks before the date of counselling. Application forms can be downloaded from www.nitte.edu.in . Applicants are required to pay the registration fee of Rs.1000/- through Demand Draft drawn in favour of NITTE UNIVERSITY, payable at MANGALORE.

Filled application is to accompanied by (i) Copy of SSLC marks card (ii) Proof of Date of Birth (School leaving certificate) (iii) Copies of Marks cards of Pre University ( plus 2 ) Course (iv) Demand Draft for Rs. 1000/- favouring “NITTE UNIVERSITY” payable at MANGALORE (v) 2 (extra) passport size photographs (similar to that pasted on the application) (vi) Test Admission Ticket -TAT (duly filled) in duplicate with the same photograph (vii) Other documents if any, to be specified.

Last date for receipt of application by the by the Registrar, NITTE University is 25.4.2012.

Test Admission Tickets will be despatched by Post by the University after receipt of application.

Applicants may contact the University by phone for non-receipt of Test Admission Tickets by 30-04-2012.

Test Admission Tickets can be downloaded from the website from 2-05-2012 onwards.

Candidates should be present at the centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the Test. Only those candidates who possess the Test Admission Ticket shall be allowed to write the Entrance Test.

However, a duplicate may be issued against a payment of Rs. 100/-. No candidate shall be permitted to enter the Hall 15 minutes after the commencement of the Test. No candidate shall be allowed to leave the Hall before the end of first 30 minutes. Candidates leaving the hall prior to the end of test will have to handover the question paper and OMR sheet to the room invigilator and collect the question paper after the Test is over. No candidate will leave the room without handing over the OMR sheet. Candidates should make entries on the Attendance Sheet as per the instructions of the invigilator.

Key Answers (Provisional) will be published on 8th May, 2012. The last date for receipt of objection/ clarification, if any, through e-mail for key answers notified is 12.5.2012. Key Answers (Final) will be published on 19.5.2012. Merit list will be announced on 13.6.2012. First Round MBBS Counselling will be on 26.6.2012 and that of BDS will be on 27.6.2012. Second Round Counselling will be on 11.7.2012. The last date for Admission will be 28.7.2012. Classes commence on 1.8.2012. Counselling, for Casual vacancies, if any, will be held on 31.8.2012.
