Entrance Examination for Admission to P.G.Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) Courses - 2012
Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses in Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) 2012

Date of Entrance Examination: 09.09.2012 (Sunday) at Thiruvananthapuram
1. Applications are invited for the
Entrance Examination for admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses in
Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) 2012 in the Nursing Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram,
Kottayam, Kozhikode and Alappuzha and Govt. Seats in Self Financing
colleges in the following Specialties.
[i] Medical Surgical Nursing [ii]
Community Health Nursing [iii] Child Health Nursing [iv] Obstetrics & Gynaecology Nursing
[v] Mental Health Nursing
[Duration of the course will be 2 academic
year (24 months)]
2. Eligibility for Admission :
(i) Nativity : Applicant should be an Indian citizen
of Kerala Origin.
(ii) Academic qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Nursing (Regular
course)of Kerala, Calicut, Mahatma Gandhi,Cochin,Kannur University or any
other University recognized by KUHS,Karala,Calicut,Mahatma Gandhi
University,Cochin or Kannur University. Candidates who have passed the
Post Basic BSc Nursing (Regular Course) of Kerala, Calicut, Mahatma Gandhi,Cochin,Kannur
University or any other University recognized by KUHS,Karala,Calicut,Mahatma
Gandhi University,Cochin or Kannur University after acquiring the
General Nursing and Midwifery Course are also eligible to apply.
Candidates who have passed B.Sc Degree in Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc
Nursing (Regular course) or equivalent examination from universities
outside Kerala and any Deemed Universities, should produce the
recognition/eligibility certificate from any of the universities in Kerala on
or before the last date of receipt of application.
(iii) Experience: Candidate should have one year experience
as on the date of notification for inviting application (i.e.08.08.2012).
In any hospital with an average strength of 100 inpatients or in a School
of Nursing or in a Community Health Nursing Programme or internship/Compulsory
Nursing Service after registration with the Kerala Nursing Council.
Note: [a] The experience acquired by candidates
after registration from Nursing Councils outside Kerala, after getting B Sc
Nursing Degree will also be counted for experience.
[b] The period undergone by a candidate for completing the
Post Basic Nursing Course will not be reckoned as work experience.
[C] The experience acquired after the completion of the
General Nursing and Midwifery Course, but before acquiring the B.Sc Nursing
Degree will not be counted for the required experience.
Applicants should
have obtained registration with Kerala Nursing Council at the time of
Counseling.
3. Age: The upper age limit for General candidates shall be 45
years and that for Service candidates will be 49 years as on the date of
notification for inviting application. (i.e.08.08.2012)
4. Selection and Entrance Examination : All Candidates including Service Quota
candidates shall have to qualify the Entrance Examination to be conducted
by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala at
Thiruvananthapuram on 09.09.2012(Sunday).The Entrance examination will be of
3 hours duration with 200 Multiple Choice Questions. General merit
candidates and service candidates have to score 40% marks in the Entrance
Examination. In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and SEBC the
required minimum marks is 35% in the Entrance Examination.

Application forms:
Prospectus and Online Application form will be available from 08.08.2012
(Wednesday) onwards in the website www.cee-kerala.org.
The Online Application procedure is common for General and Service
candidates. Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the
online application form provided in the website www.cee-kerala.org of the Commissioner
for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fees at any
State Bank of Travancore Branch using the Bank Chalan available with
the print out .Candidates residing outside Kerala State can remit the
application fee by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the
Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at
Thiruvananthapuram. Application fee is Rs.1000/- for
General/Service candidates and Rs.500/- for SC/ST candidates. Service
candidates seeking admission under General Merit Quota also should remit
extra Rs.1000/- [please see clause 8.1]. The application form and prospectus
will not be available from the Medical Colleges or from the office of Director
of Medical Education or from the office of the Commissioner for Entrance
Examination. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded on
any circumstances.
6. Last date and
time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates seeking admission
to the General Merit seats should take a print out of the application
form, affix recent passport size photograph same as the one uploaded, in
the space provided ,should attest themselves and forward their completed
application with all the required documents mentioned in clause 8.2 of
the prospectus including original chalan/DD to the
Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th
Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001, either by Registered post/Speed
post or hand delivery so as to reach
this office before
5 pm on 20.08.2012 (Monday). Applicants to Service Quota
seats should complete all the procedures mentioned in clause 8.1 and
forward the printout of the filled in application form along with all the
required documents mentioned in clause 8.2 of the prospectus to the
Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, and a copy of the application
along with all the required documents to the Controlling Officer concerned
[DME/DHS] as stipulated in the prospectus, on
or before 5 pm on 20.08.2012 (Monday).
Late, defective
and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. No correspondence
will be undertaken in this regard. The Commissioner for Entrance
Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay.
7. Admit Cards: Admit cards for the candidates whose
Applications have been accepted will be provided online in the official
website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, www.cee-kerala.org from 25.08.2012(Saturday) onwards.
8. Candidates will
not be allowed either to include any information in the application form or to
submit any certificates/documents claiming reservation or any
benefits, after the submission of the application.
9. Candidates must
note that they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of the
application form itself, wherever specified. The certificates attached
separately in the application form, for such cases, will not be
considered.
10. Rank List: The CEE will conduct the Entrance
Examination, publish the Rank list of General Merit candidates and the
list of qualified candidates under Service Quota and forward the same to
the Director of Medical Education.
11. The selection,
admission and allotment of seats including those under Lecturer Quota will be
made by the Director of Medical Education, based on various provisions
laid down in the prospectus, approved by the Government.
12. Candidates
should go through the Prospectus, approved by the Government of Kerala, vide
G.O. (MS) No.251/2012/H&FWD dated.01/08/2012 and vide G.O.(MS)
No.264/2012/H&FWD dated.07/08/2012 available in the web site www.cee-kerala.org before submitting their applications.
