Since the last date of joining of candidates
allotted by the CEE has been extended upto 23.08.2012, it is likely that there may be
non-joining vacancies in all streams in these colleges. Application forms will
be available in all the above colleges or can be downloaded from their
respective websites. Details of vacancy will be notified by the colleges in
their respective websites on 23.08.2012 by 5.00pm. Tentative information can
be had over phone from the colleges. Candidates who have already applied and
has not taken admission may also apply.

THE
KERALA CATHOLIC ENGINEERING COLLEGE MANAGEMENTS' ASSOCIATION
The Kerala
Catholic Engineering College Managements' Association (KCECMA) is a fraternity
registered under Travancore, Cochin, Literary, Scientific & Charitable
Societies, Registration Act, 1955 No. ER 1977.
KCECMA has been
formed with a mission to promote engineering and technical education in Kerala
matching international standards coupled with a strong base on moral, social,
ethical and civic values. Our moorings are based on the Christian doctrines
of love, peace and universal brotherhood.
The Association
functions as a voluntary self-regulatory agency ensuring quality technical
education without compromising on social justice. Our member institutions value
transparency in every aspect - student selection, teacher and other staff selection,
etc. We stand for equal opportunity for all without discrimination of any kind
whatsoever.
The Association
endeavours to make Kerala a global destination for technical education. The
strategies and programmes include continuous quality assurance, improvement and
monitoring programmes, skill development of students -technical, personal and
social -and faculty training and development programmes. Simultaneously we
focus on maintaining technical education at affordable levels eliminating the
urban-rural and rich-poor divide, though on cost
sharing basis.
CRITERIAOF ELIGIBILITY FORADMISSION TO
B.TECH. COURSES
Nationality:-
Candidates must be
Citizens of India.
Academic Requirements
i) Pass in Higher
Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or
an examination recognized equivalent thereto with at least Fifty percent
marks in
Mathematics separately and Fifty percent marks in Mathematics, Physics and
Chemistry/equivalent
subjects put together or equivalent grade.
ii) The percentage
/ number of seats other than NRI seats proposed to be reserved for
various groups by
each college is given in Annexure I (refer prospectus).
iii) Rounding off
of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is not permitted.
Age
i) Applicants
should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December 2012.
Entrance Exam
Candidates should
qualify in the Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by Commissioner of Entrance
Exams, Govt. of Kerala. The Association do not propose to conduct any separate test
for its member colleges.
HOW TO APPLY:
The Common
Prospectus along with application form can be obtained from the respective member
college on payment of Rs. 400 (Rs. Four hundred only) The Application shall be submitted
as detailed below:
Separate
application forms shall be submitted to each college and the candidate is free
to apply to as many colleges as needed. Some of the colleges have only online
application facility. Please refer the college page for details. Application
form issued by one college cannot be used for applying in another college.
Candidates may use any one of the following method to submit the application
form according to the provisions given by the respective colleges.
(1) Application
forms can be submitted online on the website of the some of the colleges which
have provision for the same. After submission a printout of the application
alongwith copies of documents affixing the photograph & signature and
DD of Rs. 400/- in
favour of respective colleges shall be submitted.
(2) Applications
can be submitted on the pre-printed forms available with the
prospectus from
the colleges .
(3) Application
forms can be downloaded from the website of the respective member
institutions. Such
applications have to be submitted along with a DD of Rs. 400/- in
favour of the
respective college.
Mode of submitting
Application is given in the College Website / College page of the
Prospectus.
The duly filled in
application along with attested copies of necessary documents shall be submitted
directly or by registered post with A/D to the respective college so as to
reach there on or before the prescribed date. Applicants shall obtain
acknowledgment from the respective colleges for applications submitted
directly.
Applications
submitted to the colleges should be complete in all respects. The candidate should
fill in all the items in theApplication Form in his / her own handwriting.
Two Copies of
Certificates/Documents listed bellow, attested by a gazette officer/Head of the
Institution last attended shall be submitted along with the application.
a) 10th / 12th
certificate in proof of the date of birth
b) Admit card of
the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination
c) Mark list of
qualifying examination and entrance examination
d) Certificate of
good conduct from the institution last attended issued within six months from
the date of application.
e) In cases where
the candidates claim any sort of reservation or special consideration or scholarships,
documents to prove such claims.
f) Certificate
from Parish Priest for consideration in the community merit and for the
benefit of
weightage/preference of membership in any Diocese.
Application not
accompanied by documents in proof of claims made therein will be summarily
rejected without further intimation. Documents / Certificates furnished after submission
of the application will not be entertained under any circumstances. Also no opportunity
will be given to incorporate any details or document after the submission of the
application. Late and incomplete applications will be rejected.
SCHOLARSHIPS:
The Association
has made arrangements to provide a few scholarships to the financially backward
students admitted in the college merit seats (candidates allotted by CEE will not
be eligible for this scholarship).
To be eligible for
scholarship under the schemes mentioned hereunder, the candidate
shall be admitted
in anyone of the 12 member colleges of the Association and the total income
of the candidate's family shall not exceed Rs.3,60,000 a year.
Amount of
scholarship is Rs.25000 per annum. However, students who get scholarship will have
to pay the fees to the Colleges where they take admissions.
Students receiving
financial aid from any other source are not eligible for this scholarship.
All scholarships
will be made available through the colleges concerned.
Application for
scholarship will be invited, by the Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements'Association,
after the admissions are over.
From among the
eligible applicants for scholarship. Candidates will be chosen on the base of
the merit. The merit will be decided on the basis of the Engineering Entrance
Rank 2012 published by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

Counselling in all
the member colleges of KCECMA will start on 27.6.2012. Since, a candidate would
have applied to more than one college; it may not be possible for the
candidate/parent to be physically present in all the colleges, at the time of
counselling.
Therefore it will
be sufficient, if an authorized representative is present for counselling, with
attested copies of all relevant certificates. Such representative can confirm
the admission if offered.
