BIPT Biotech Industrial Training Programme (BIPT) 2012



BITP is a programme of Dept of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India, managed by Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL)

The objective of BITP is to provide practical industrial exposure for six months to students to improve job prospectus and to help biotech industry to identify prospective manpower

During the training stipend of Rs 8000/- per month is paid to trainees and bench fee is paid to companies to cover expenses towards training

DBT invites applications from the Biotech students and requisitions from the biotech companies

Biotech Industry: Biotech companies interested to provide practical training to the students of biotechnology under BITP may apply online positively by 31st July, 2012

The companies would have no obligation towards any payments to trainees

Biotechnology Students: Biotech students interested in practical training in biotech companies may apply online

B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc/M.Tech/M.V.Sc in Biotechnology from Indian recognized universities with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade completed in the year 2011 or 2012 are eligible to apply

Candidates will be selected based on online test followed by interview
Online test would be conducted at centers across the country

Application Form: Application will be accepted online only along with the non-refundable application fee of Rs 500/-

Online application portal for submitting application forms will be opened from 13th June, 2012 to 30th June, 2012

The following documents are to be to Deputy Manager, Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL), 5th Floor, Anuvrat Bhavan, 210, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg, New Delhi-110002 by speed post/courier; hard copy of the system generated acknowledgement of the application form submitted online; attested copies of marksheets and degree/provisional certificate of highest degree qualification upto the semester/year for which result has been declared, in case of GPA/CGPA system, a copy of marksheet/official document from University/College indicating the formula to convert grades to percentage must also be sent; Certificate from Head of Department/Coordinator for DBT supported teaching programme

Candidates interested in higher studies and research need not apply

Application does not guarantee training under BITP

No TA/DA will be paid to the students appearing for online test

Students from DBT supported teaching programmes will be given preference

Decision of the selection committee will be final

Training does not ensure permanent placement

Candidates will be required to join anywhere in India

Applications for change of location will not be entertained

If the trainees leaves the training in between or is terminated, stipend and bench fee would not be paid for the rest of training period

Important dates

Last date for receipt of applications and documents: 30th June, 2012
List of the candidates shortlisted for online test will be displayed on the website www.bcil.nic.in: 17th July, 2012
Online test: 01st August, 2012

Results of online test, list of candidates shortlisted for interview, details of venue, date and time of the interview will be displayed on website (no individual intimation for interviews would be sent): 14th August, 2012
Interviews for final selection of candidates: 15th August, 2012 to 15th September, 2012
List of candidates selected to training will be displayed on website: 30th September, 2012
Tentative date of commencement of training: October, 2012
